Who We Are
Welcome
Vesey is one of Tucson Unified's new K-6 schools, and we offer numerous academic and extracurricular programs, including band and orchestra, athletics, chorus and GATE for our elementary and middle school students. Our dedicated teachers are committed to developing young minds to enjoy learning through exploration and collaboration.
Focus
Vesey is a STEAM school where children are safe to learn, explore new and different experiences in a nurturing environment that prepares them for middle school, high school, and beyond.
Mission
Vesey strives to be a place where children are nurtured and prepared academically and socially, and where diversity and inclusion are celebrated as we ensure that our students are ready for the global learning experience.

Evelyn Jay Award
3rd grade ELD teacher Jennifer Roqueni was surprised with the Evelyn Jay Award, presented by the Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF). This award honors the legacy of Evelyn Jay, a dedicated TUSD teacher and reading specialist, and recognizes educators who demonstrate exceptional passion and skill in teaching reading to students in kindergarten through third grades. From 2nd grade teacher to curriculum specialist to instructional coach, and back to her heart, the classroom. Mrs. Culbertson has been part of the Vesey family since 1998! She’s currently rocking 3rd grade, co-coordinating student council, planning spirit weeks, bunny bag surprises, celebrating her classes awesome behavior with snow cone parties.Outside of school, she’s a proud mom of two, loves reading, reality TV (Survivor fan since Day 1!), giraffes, and cacti.

6th Grade at Vesey
Vesey is going to have 6th grade here starting the 2024-2025 school year! TUSD has selected our school to become a Pre-K-6th grade school. This is exciting for our kids and families that want to stay in an elementary environment that will better prepare their children for a 7th and 8th grade Middle School experience. We are creating what our 6th grade middle school addition will be and how it will operate. The children will emulate a true middle school experience that will include core classes and electives. The children will switch classes and have changes throughout their day. The district is assisting us with the instruction and operational design for our new 6th grade.
